Local Business Tax Exemption for Disabled Veterans
Under F.S. 205.171, Florida exempts qualifying disabled veterans (and certain surviving spouses) from the local business tax receipt fee when engaging in a business or occupation.
Eligibility: Bona fide permanent resident elector of Florida who was honorably discharged and, at the time of application, is disabled from performing manual labor. The unremarried spouse of a deceased qualifying disabled veteran is entitled to the same exemption. Does not waive liquor license fees.

How to apply: Apply at your county (or municipal) tax collector's office with identification, proof of Florida resident-elector status, and your honorable discharge (DD-214).
